Managing Menus in ABC Theme

Menus are an essential part of your website’s navigation, allowing visitors to easily browse different sections. In the ABC theme, you can customize and manage your menus through the WordPress Dashboard.


How to Edit or Add a Menu

  1. Navigate to the Menu Settings:
    • Go to Dashboard → Appearance → Menus.
  2. Select an Existing Menu or Create a New One:
    • If you already have a menu, select it from the dropdown and click “Select”.
    • To create a new menu, click “Create a new menu”, enter a name, and click “Create Menu”.
  3. Adding Items to the Menu:
    • In the left panel, you’ll see available content options such as Pages, Posts, Custom Links, and Categories.
    • Check the boxes next to the items you want to add and click “Add to Menu”.
    • Drag and drop menu items to arrange them in the desired order.
  4. Creating Dropdown (Submenus):
    • To create a submenu, drag a menu item slightly to the right under a parent menu item.
    • This will nest it as a dropdown under the main menu item.
  5. Assigning Menu Location:
    • Scroll down to Menu Settings, where you can assign your menu to different locations.
    • Check the appropriate box (e.g., Primary Menu, Footer Menu) based on where you want it to appear.
  6. Saving Changes:
    • Once you’ve made your changes, click “Save Menu” to apply them.

Additional Menu Customization

  • Custom Links: You can manually add custom URLs to your menu, such as external links or specific sections within your site.
  • Menu Styling: Theme allow additional customization, such as styling and animations, under Theme Options.
  • Menu Contents: Theme allow others content, such as logo, button, under Theme Options->Header.
